To get help with Quiet Scribe, email damianoliva.dev@gmail.com with your device, system version and a short description of the problem. Below are fixes for the most common issues.

Quiet Scribe can't record (microphone)

Without the microphone, Quiet Scribe cannot record. Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and turn on Quiet Scribe.
If the microphone is busy, close other apps that are using it and try again.
On Apple Watch, turn on microphone access in the watch's Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.

On Mac, the other participants aren't recorded

Choose the Video call mode, which captures your microphone and the meeting audio in separate tracks.
Allow System Audio Recording for Quiet Scribe in System Settings → Privacy & Security. Quiet Scribe records audio only, never your screen.
After enabling the permission you may need to quit and reopen Quiet Scribe.
Without that permission you can still record in-person meetings with the microphone.

There's no transcript

Without speech recognition there is no transcription. Turn it on for Quiet Scribe in Settings → Privacy & Security → Speech Recognition.
The first time you transcribe in a language, the device downloads its language model; keep a connection until it finishes.
Transcribing takes about half the length of the meeting.

The minutes or Ask aren't available

AI minutes and Ask need Apple Intelligence. Turn it on in Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri and try again.
If Apple Intelligence is still downloading its model, wait a few minutes and retry.
On devices that don't support Apple Intelligence, Quiet Scribe still records and transcribes.

Apple Watch recordings don't reach my iPhone

Recordings are sent automatically when your iPhone is nearby; open Quiet Scribe on the iPhone to speed up syncing.
If the watch says your iPhone isn't connected yet, wait a moment and try again.
To start recording hands-free, say “Start a meeting recording in Quiet Scribe” to Siri, or assign the shortcut to the Action button on Apple Watch Ultra.

The transcription language isn't available

Quiet Scribe transcribes and writes minutes in English and Spanish. Choose the language or Automatic in Settings.
If the device can't download the language model, check your connection and storage, then try again.

A meeting doesn't appear on my other device

Make sure iCloud is on for Quiet Scribe on both devices and that you're signed in with the same Apple Account.
Audio files are not synced: a meeting recorded on another device shows its transcript and minutes, but not the audio.

Privacy

Quiet Scribe doesn't collect your data, so support only sees what you choose to send by email.
